Artificial Intelligence
Supporting Innovative Approaches to Education
“Our intelligence is what makes us human, and AI is an extension of that quality. Artificial intelligence is extending what we can do with our abilities. In this way, it’s letting us become more human.”
— Yann LeCun
Thinking about the rise of Artificial Intelligence and it's implications can be daunting - but it doesn't have to be. AI is already a part of our work in schools, as well as our workforce community. The Tech+ Team at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education is certified through the ISTE AI's Explorations Program to support you in demystifying artificial intelligence for your students and teachers.
Together we can empower our staff and students to use AI ethically, responsibly and productively!

ChatGPT: A Boom or Our Doom?
ChatGPT: A Boom or Our Doom?
What if you could get a tech tool to create a lesson plan, or generate a letter to your students' parents? What if that same tool could be used by students to handle their written assignments? What if it could write poetry, or computer code? ChatGPT is a tool that can do all these things, and it's free. In this session, we look at both fascinating and ominous possibilities of ChatGPT as they relate to our work as educators.
